Japanese paintings noren "鯉幟 Koinobori"
Traditional painting on natural hemp with classic Japanese Koinobori silk flags. These auspicious flags represent vigor and have been used since the Edo era to celebrate the May lunar calendar.
A curiosity: Originally it was affixed only a black fish (ま い), from the Meiji period the second red fish (ひ ご ご) was added, but only from the Showa era it was accompanied by a third fish (青 い 鯉) to represent the family, and it has become tradition.
Fully hand painted. Signature of the author on the side.
New, from Kanazawa.
